Finger Printing

Fee Information

Applicant (non-criminal) fingerprinting can be done at any time at the Plymouth Police Department, which is located within City Hall at 201 S. Main Street.  There are no specific times, no appointments are taken and there is no residency requirement. The fee for fingerprinting is $15.00, payable by cash, check, or money order. No electronic payments are accepted. After normal business hours, you must provide the exact amount, as officers have no way of making change.

Applicants are responsible for knowing the name of the fingerprint card they need. Cards are identified by a series of letters and numbers. Staff will make no recommendations on which print card is needed. The police department will provide two fingerprint cards.

After the fee is paid, an officer will take the prints.

LiveScan
Electronically- submitted fingerprinting is now available at LiveScan facilities for certain applicable Michigan reason codes (school employment, Michigan bar license, etc.).  Contact Identex at 866-226-2952 for their locations and to set up an appointment.

When LiveScan is not applicable, traditional inked fingerprints will be taken and the Michigan State Police Applicant and Personal Identification Card RI-008 or FBI Applicant FD-258 will provided to you immediately, unless you provide a different card.

Rejected Fingerprint Card
If you were fingerprinted by the City of Plymouth Police Department and the prints were subsequently rejected, prints will be redone and our fee will be waived if you bring in the rejected fingerprint card or the receipt previously issued.
