The organizations listed below may be out in residential areas for 2026:

PERMIT HOLDERS



Applications for a Peddler & Solicitor Permit may be obtained in person from the Clerk's Office or online.

Peddling
The act of traveling by foot, motor vehicle, or any other type of conveyance while selling or offering for sale goods or services.

Soliciting
The act of traveling by foot, motor vehicle, or any other type of conveyance while seeking to obtain orders for the purchase of goods or services for future delivery or performance or seeking donations of money or goods.

Anyone interested in applying for a Solicitor's License should return a complete application to the Clerk's office.

Application requirements can be found in the City's related ordinance, which is attached to the application. Applications will be reviewed by Police Department before approval.  Access application here.

Applicants should include the following with their completed application when required:
     Current email address      
     Valid Photo ID: A clear copy of your Michigan Driver’s License or official state photo identification.
     Passport-Style Photos: A clear 2"x2" photograph of face and shoulders for all applicants/associates working
                                       in the community taken within 60 days of application.
     Criminal Background Check: A criminal history report or ICHAT (Internet Criminal History Access Tool)
                                               report, dated within 30 days of application.
     Employer Verification: Official letter from your company/organization stating employment relationship.
     Vehicle & Insurance Information: Proof of vehicle registration and insurance for any vehicle used while
                                                      working within the city, plus general liability insurance.
    

This review process typically takes 7 to 10 days, but can be longer. The Police Department and/or the City Clerk's office has the right to deny any application for the consideration and protection of the residents of the City of Plymouth. 


Fee Schedule
Applicant Fee (per application):

$5 /per day  -  $50 /3 months  -  $75 /6 months  -  $100 /one year

Helper/Assistant (on same application as Applicant):
$2 /per day  -  $20 /3 months  -  $30 /6 months  -  $50 /one year
