 IMPORTANT INFORMATION For LEARN TO SKATE (LTS) CLASSES during the current Governors Executive Orders.

 

 Due to the current Governors Executive Orders (EO), we have reformatted the Learn to Skate Classes to conform to the current EO and USA - Learn to Skate (USA-LTS) protocols.  Just some of the changes are as follows.

  • Masks are required by everyone inside the Cultural Center Facility
  • All classes are 25 minutes long. Maximum of 6 skaters per class. (USA-LTS)
  • No open practice time during LTS as advised by USA-LTS
  • No Snow Play Sam 1 Offered at this time (USA-LTS)
  • Arena Maximum Capacity of 130 during Learn to Skate Classes (EO)
  • Classes enter and exit from opposite ends of the Arena (USA-LTS)
  • Free Rental Skate usage (if needed) to be sanitized by Arena Staff after each Class.

Class Fees:

4 Week Sessions:  $60/Non-City Resident, $56/City of Plymouth Res.

 

Basic Class Info:

  • Skaters should wear warm, comfortable clothing including mittens or gloves.
  • Helmets are REQUIRED. Bike, ski or hockey helmets are acceptable.
  • Skaters should arrive 15 minutes prior to class starting.
  • Classes are subject to cancellation or combining levels if minimum enrollment is not met.
  • Registration in classes includes a membership with the United States Figure Skating Association and skaters will receive a USFSA Record book by mail.
  • NO REFUNDS once classes begin.

 

 Classes and Descriptions

 

  • Snowplow Sam 2 & 3 (sorry, no Sam 1 offered at this time) are for ages 4—6 divided into progressive levels allowing children with little skating experience to build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating. 

     

  • Basic Skills Classes (ages 5 and older) teaches the FUNdamentals of ice skating and provides the best foundation for figure skating and hockey. Progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Structured with the focus on proper skill development taught in a positive, FUN, and social environment. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated.
