Beginning in Summer 2023, the City of Plymouth DMS, along with our partner, HydroCorp, will be installing new water meters in every residential and commercial establishment. The new water meters allow for a more accurate read of water used, while at the same time providing an online portal for the customer to track their water usage to enhance conservation efforts and monitor for leaks. The goal of the water meter replacement program is to update the community's water meter infrastructure.
HydroCorp will have technicians on-site to install the new meters with appointments taking approximately 15-45 minutes. Each HydroCorp technician can be identified by their company shirt and photo ID badge, each with the logo pictured below.

Letters informing residents or property owners that they are able to schedule an appointment to have their meter replaced began going out May 8, 2023 to residents in Old Village and the southwest section of the city. Appointments can be scheduled either through the HydroCorp website at www.WaterMeterInstall.com or by calling a HydroCorp customer service representative at (800) 315-4305 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. A sample of the letter can be found below.

Once you receive the letter with your unique nine-digit scheduling code, this video shows you how to set up your water meter replacement appointment: How to sign up for your appointment video.
How to prepare for your meter replacement appointment
1. Locate the meter and make sure that it is unobstructed and accessible. Any obstacle including drywall, paneling, storage containers, etc. must be removed before your appointment and is the homeowners responsibility.
2. Ensure that water shut-off valve(s) are fully operable before the appointment. If your shut-off valve(s) leak or fail during the meter replacement it is the property owners responsibility to replace or repair the valve(s). If it is found unsafe to exchange the water meter due to deterioration issues the meter replacement will have to be rescheduled after the necessary repairs have been made.
3. Check that the grounding wire is up to code.
4. Contain all pets during the appointment.
5. The property owner or representative that is 18 years of age or older must be present during the appointment.
