City Road Conditions as of 5:15 a.m.

The City Department of Municipal Services has been working all weekend to keep the City's major streets clear of blowing and drifting snow to make sure that Santa could make his deliveries.  Due to the extreme cold temperatures over the weekend, crews have plowed snow drifts and applied a salt and liquid brine mix to make the road salt more effective at low temperatures.  As of 5:15 a.m. on Christmas Morning the temperatures have come up to 14f degrees and the winds have tapered off.  The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of snow flurries between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. with a high today of 19f degrees.

Overnight, the City has received a light dusting of snow of about one inch in accumulation.  City Municipal Services crews have been out again during the overnight hours and all of the City's major streets are clear and wet at this time.  This would include, but not be limited to Penniman, Ann Arbor Trail, Main Street, Farmer, Starkweather, Junction and portions of Forest and Union.  Residential side streets are snow covered with slick spots.

Drive safe and remember to leave extra room between you and the car in front of you.
