Fitness Class Opportunities

The City of Plymouth has partnered with local instructors to offer the following Fitness Class and Martial Art opportunities at the Plymouth Cultural Center, starting in September:


Swerk
The world's best hip-hop cardio fitness workout! Our booty poppin, glute focused dance moves will change your routine for fitness.

10 weeks, Monday's, starting on September 12
Resident $99, Non-resident $107


Bootcamp

Fast paced full body workout consisting of strength, endurance, resistance, and aerobic exercises using various types of equipment.

10 weeks, Tuesday's, starting on September 13
Resident $99, Non-resident $107


Tabata
45 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), consisting of 8 rounds of 20 second bursts of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. It is the ultimate calorie burning workout.

10 weeks, Thursday's, starting on September 15
Resident $99, Non-resident $107


Tai Chi
Beginner's class for Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a Chinese Martial Art that incorporates slow but purposeful movements to improve strength, coordination, and balance. It also helps in achieving a relaxed state and calming the mind through meditation and proper breathing.

6 weeks, Wednesday's, starting on September 14
Resident $60, Non-resident $68


Aikido
Beginner's class for Aikido. Aikido is a Japanese Martial Art that uses the attacker's energy to subdue and control. It includes joint manipulation, throws, and pins to immobilize attackers. Students will learn the basic moves, footwork, and simple techniques to escape from grabs and holds.

10 weeks, Monday's, starting on September 12
