City Road Conditions as of 8:00 a.m.
Published on Feb 18, 2022 08:12

City Municipal Services has all City Major Roads plowed and salted.  This would include streets such as, Main Street, Penniman, Ann Arbor Trail, Harvey, Forest, Farmer and Starkweather.  In addition, all on street municipal parking spaces in the Old Village and Downtown area are available for parking.  All sidewalks in the downtown business area are also clear and salted.

Municipal Services plow crews are also working in the neighborhoods and as of 8:00 a.m. they have approximately 15% of the residential side streets plowed and they are continuing to work.  Residents are reminded that there is a Snow Emergency in place until 10:00 a.m. and cars should not be parked on the residential side streets until after the plows have completed their work.

Residents and businesses are reminded to please don't push, blow or shovel snow into the street.  This violates City Ordinance and it can cause the property owner to have a liability in the event of an accident.  Also, once crews finish plowing a street, they are not coming back to "clean up" after someone has pushed snow back into the street.

If you see a plow or salt truck working on a street please "Don't Crowd the Plow."  There are a lot of things that the operator has to pay attention to in the cab and if there are people or cars close to the plow operations, it makes the job more difficult and it will take longer to clear the streets.
