City Commission Meeting Summary - June 21

The Plymouth City Commission held a second public hearing of the annual Liquor License Review at its Monday, June 21 regular meeting. The Commission recommended to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission that five additional licenses be renewed. Licenses recommended for renewal include Ironwood Grill, Bigalora, The Post Local Bistro, Stella's Trackside and Stella's Tavern. At the first public hearing on June 7, an additional 18 licenses were recommended for renewal.

The City Commission adopted the Wayne County Stormwater Standards Ordinance Amendment. The adoption of these standards will allow the City to be in compliance with State of Michigan permitting processes for storm water discharge.

The City Commission authorized the purchase of a valve turning trailer. This new piece of equipment is needed for routine maintenance operations and emergency water main break situations.

The City Commission authorized a sidewalk and utility patch repair contract with Audia Concrete Construction of Milford, Michigan. Each year, the City inspects and makes repairs in 1/4 of the City. This year, inspection and repairs are scheduled to be made in the areas south of Ann Arbor Trail and west of Main Street.

Other items of note from Monday's meeting included the approval of 4th quarter budget amendments, approval of the renewal of the City's liability insurance, adoption of the water and sewer rate card, approval of the 2021 Riverside Cemetery rules and rates, approval of Community Development rate updates, and approval of designated depositories for the 2021-22 fiscal year.
