Rental Housing Inspections

Rental Housing Inspection Program

All rental units within the City of Plymouth must be inspected and approved for compliance with the minimum standards outlined in the Michigan State Housing Law.  Every rental property must have a valid Certificate of Compliance on record to be occupiable.

Application

The housing inspection application is mailed to the property owner at the address on file in September prior to the expiration of the Certificate of Compliance in December.  The completed application must be mailed or emailed to the office and an inspection scheduled.  Landlords are encouraged to inspect their property prior to the inspection to correct any violations.
