Mopeds

  • Minimum drivers age is 15 years old and a special Moped license must be obtained from the Secretary of State.  Otherwise, a valid drivers license is needed.
  • Operators less than 19 years of age must wear an approved motorcycle helmet.
  • Driving on sidewalks or bike paths is NOT permitted.
  • Mopeds may be operated on the roadway if it displays a valid permit   and all traffic laws are obeyed.  Mopeds must be driven as near to the       right side of the roadway as possible.

Go-Peds

Go-peds are not permitted to be operated within the City of Plymouth.  Go-peds fall under the definition of a Moped, however, without all of the accessories needed for operation, i.e., SEAT, REARVIEW MIRROR, HORN, HANDLEBAR HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS, STOP/BRAKE LIGHT, FRONT & REAR BRAKES and HEADLIGHT, this type of vehicle can not be operated in the roadway and laws also prevent its use on a sidewalk.
